Fakaalofa lahi atu,

NIUE CULTURE AND ARTS FESTIVAL 23 – 30 APRIL 2011

I am pleased to announce that the 2nd Niue Culture and Arts Festival will be held in Niue from 23 – 30 April 2011. The festival is aimed at reconnecting Niueans abroad with the home of their ancestors and to showcase the uniqueness of Niuean culture and heritage, from Niue traditional and contemporary music, dance, poetry, drama, food, traditional sports, and more. The festival will also be an opportunity to contribute to Niue’s tourism and economic development activities.

In April 2009, the first ever Niue Culture and Arts festival was held in Niue. The festival was a huge success with an attendance of approximately 150 Niueans from Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Australia. This year I wish to invite you and your organisation to share your talents and participate in what promises to be a magnificent event. This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with our homeland and share the unique sounds, sights and flavours of Niue.

We hope you can join us in this celebration of our culture, our heritage our people and our home.
